Many machine quilters, especially when new, struggle to learn how to quilt beautiful feathers.  Other quilters, including many experienced professionals, may be intimidated by quilting free motion feathers.  I am here to tell you that learning how to quilt feathers is well within your reach.  It is for you that I decided to create my  Feather Practice Worksheet Series.

Practice lesson file Part 1 is presented in .PDF format.  You will need a free download, Adobe Reader, to open, read and print out each worksheet.    I encourage you to print out at least 3 pages of this lesson for practice.    I believe that practicing each Part over and over is essential to obtain Feather Mastery!

Feather Practice Worksheet, Part 1:  Freehand Feather

We start the series with a basic freehand feather.   To assist with learning the steps, you can trace over the light gray feathers using a smooth rolling pen.  Print out multiple copies of this .pdf file.

What Happened to all your free pdf files?

Currently, I am re-writing and expanding my Feather Workshop Series into an eBook format. There was such demand for learning feathers that I decided to design more lessons and worksheets on drawing and quilting feathers. Keep watching for more details

Have fun!  Carla Barrett
