A Contest…

I thought I would share a really good contest with you all that ends on Thursday, March 4 at 11:59 pm.  The winner gets a $1000 shopping spree at artbeads.com.

Artbeads.com <http://Artbeads.com> $1,000 Shopping Spree Sweepstakes

I am part of ArtBeads.com Blogging Designer program, so I heard about this in an email from the company.  I entered myself, but I thought I would share the love and let you know this contest was going on, too.

Happy Beading, Carla

  1. Did you read the “official rules?” Under #6 there was this sentence – throwing a little joke in the middle to see if anyone reads it I presume. “If a Canadian resident is selected, he/she will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, in order to be eligible for the prize.” That made me stop and read it over again for sure.

    • I spoke with my contact at ArtBeads.com and it turns out the company had to include that in the rules to be compliant with Canadian law. Quebec is excluded due to legalities with their language requirements.

Duchess from ArtBeads.com did reply below, too.

  2. I did a double take when I read it – I do try to skim the official rules when I sign up for something. Sometimes there is something I don’t agree to and therefore don’t sign up. Just hit me as very funny when I read it.

  3. Hello,

In regards to the Canadian entrants for the Artbeads 10th Anniversary Sweepstakes. Canada does not allow for their residents to win a Sweepstakes without a skill test to be given first. That is the reason for the math question in the Sweepstakes rules. I can assure you that it is a very easy test, but we need to include due to Canadian Sweepstakes law and regulations.

    Warmest Regards,

    From Artbeads.com

  4. Hi, Carla,
This has nothing to do with the contest in this thread, but would you be willing to participate in our Gold Bug Quilters April 27 Program meeting “Machine Quilters Question and Answer Forum”? Many of our members have questions about the different machines used by quilters with their own businesses, , how to get a quilt top ready for you to quilt, about your businesses, etc…. We’d love to have you participate since your business has been such a success and you are such a talented machine quilter. BTW…the Gold Bug opportunity quilt “in progress” photos you posted are beautiful!

    Thanks for considering my request!
