It’s a Girl!!

Kate Elizabeth Davey has arrived!!  My granddaughter has finally made an appearance!  Of course she is beautiful, too!  Pictures will follow.

Kate made her appearance on February 16th, 2010  around 12:30 pm.  She weighs 8 lbs 11 oz. and best of all…. she is healthy!!

This grandma got to hold her many time today.  She is so cute and sweet!!  My heart is melting!!   Being a grandmother is a good thing!

Here is a picture of mom & Baby.  I though Aimee (my DDIL) was glowing in this phone pic:

  1. Congrats! …Oh ..wait! We didnt’ get PICTURES? You are too cruel! You were too busy HOLDING her weren’t you!? ..OK..Ok…we will let you off the hook JUST THIS ONCE! :::grin::::

  2. Congrats again, Carla! I am feeling rather guilty…bet if you didn’t have to run off for our phone call, you could have stayed and taken lots of pictures! But I bet you make up for it today!!

Thanks again for the wonderful mini class last night, we had a great discussion afterward.

That lady with the dimensional flowers was feeling a lot better about quilting her quilt…but I think Michelle is still totally overwhelmed by the artsy quilt…WAY out of her comfort zone! LOL

    • Hi Maxine, so good to meet with you all by phone last night! I had fun!

Re: Michelle’s artsy quilt- Hopefully the pictures will help her to show how I would approach the quilt. Her quilt is actually a fun one and would be fun to quilt.

It would have been fun to draw on a few more quilts from guild members, I love to QW on quilts… LOL!

      Thanks for your comments, Maxine!

  3. Congratulations Carla. Granddaughters are so special. I didn’t have have granddaughters until my oldest son got married for the second time and Stephanie had 2 daughters and then they had a daughter. They all are awesome.

  4. Well that’s just wonderful! And congratulations on being a new grandmother! Every time there’s a new baby born, so is a grandmother. Glad to hear everyone’s doing well, too. Enjoy, enjoy!

Congrats Grandma!! She looks beautiful and Aimee doesn’t look like she just had a baby! Anxious to see more pictures and so glad all is well — healthy and happy — there’s also little girl’s clothes which are sooooo fun to buy!!

  8. Congratulations Grandma Carla. Beautiful girls, both!. Is Jack a big brother? I know you will love taking care of Kate. May be grow up to be as creative and sharing as her grandma. Dar S

  9. Yeah, thanks for the pic!!!! Both DDIL and Kate are beautiful. I have an ex- sister-in-law named Kate…well, I called her Kate…everyone else in the family called her Kathy…Kate…was so was much more appropriate and more up-to-date than Kathy!!! Yippie!! Can’t wait for more up-close-and-personal shots!!!

    Big hugs,
    Karen

  10. How exciting! Love her sweet name. My DD is named Katherine Nicole but we call her Katie, Kate, Katherine, Kit Kat, etc. Elizabeth was our second choice for her middle name. Or could have been a first name for our second child if we had another girl. But we had Jace!

    Enjoy your new granddaughter Carla!!!

  11. Thanks again, everyone!! You all are great! Kate is just so blasted cute and Jack, now a big brother, is very excited, too. She slept through the night on her first night home, how cool is that?

Later today, we will visit the kids and grandkids, and I promise to get more pictures to share with you.
