Charleston to Carolina Beach, NC

We made fabulous time today, and we made it to Joyner Marina in Carolina Beach.

Along the way, I had the pleasure of meeting a fellow quilter and blogger, Harriet, who is heading home from a trip to the Bahamas with her husband, Skip and her sheltie, Bailey.  We passed them in the ICW:

Dave pulled alongside so we could have a chat.  It was fun!  All the while, Bailey was barking and getting all excited.  LOL

Here is a close up of Harriet, who was at the wheel when we came up alongside.  She called for Skip to take the wheel so we could take pictures of each other for the blogs:

We all loved her 38 foot sloop, it has nice lines and an attractive hull color, too.  I wish I could have gotten a picture of her dog, he was very cute.

Carolina Beach-  Plans for this friday night!  First up, Dave and Yvette’s longtime friend, David (aka Cookie) and his wife and kids are coming over for a visit.  David owns a nearby restaurant, and he is a master chef, so we are in for a treat!!

At dusk, there will be a fireworks display put on by the city for some unknown reason.  We have the perfect view no matter if we are on the boat or at the restaurant.

Thank goodness for good internet, so that means I can skype Joe tonight.  Life is indeed good!

Here is another picture from today- which shows the view along the ICW:

Off to dinner!  Hugs, Carla

  1. Hey Carla, I wouldn’t admit to any more seasickness either! I hope the bad weather and mechanical issues go away. It looks like an adventure no matter what.

  2. Sounds like things are going smoother for you, finally! How fun to meet another blogger, on the water of all places.
Hope you have a fun day and night there in NC, and enjoy the fireworks.
