I’m late putting up my Christmas tree this year. Usually I try to do it around Dec 1st, but this year life got in the way. So yesterday, Joe and I went shopping for the perfect holiday tree. We visited about 3 grocery stores, 2 superstores, a hardware store and one drug store, all places where trees are normally sold. This year, no tree in sight.
One place did have a few live trees to pick from, but they were scrawny and only 2 feet high. Somehow, it just doesn’t work for me, so we continued our search.
Finally, today we had success! We located a tree farm and purchased a lovely 8 foot tree. We brought it home, set it up, then pulled out the decorations. Here’s a picture of one of my ornaments, a sock monkey cow:
Now, all I have to do is wrap presents, and I’m all ready to celebrate the big day!
How are you celebrating the holiday, either Christmas or Hannukah?
Hugs, Carla

we didn’t even do a tree this year..we feel a bit like Buster

oops my photo didn’t work… ha
I want to see Buster!!! I love your dog!
Somehow our tree didn’t make it up either. The kids aren’t coming to our house this year and Lynn said he didn’t need a tree. I took that to mean he didn’t want to get it out and then put it away so I let him have his way. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas Carla and don’t spoil Jack tooooo much.
We cut a tree from our yard yesterday. It is not the worlds best tree but once we put on the string of lights and a few ornaments it looked great. DBIL came down yesterday and we opened gifts last night (early long story). In any case DH listed to me and I got Renae’s amazing rays and mini rays and the second DVD in her set (now I have both)………….oh boy I can’t wait for playtime for those new toys!!!!
No tree this year — this is the first time I’ve not had a tree in my whole life. Having our annual open house at my daughters (another first–she has a tree and that will do). I got a new living room floor (my Christmas present to myself — no more wall to wall rug!! Yippee!). Busy cooking/baking for the party. Need to put on some Christmas music — it’s what I like best about Christmas.
Enjoy yourself Carla …. Merry Merry Merry Christmas to you and yours!
In a whirl of noise and people and food…all good.
