Andi asked me to help with a logo sign design for her brand new longarm quilting business. After a few rough drafts, here is the resulting graphic artwork:
And here it is made into a sign on the window of Andi’s new business venture:
Pretty cool, huh? From art to reality! If you see this sign, drop by and say hello to Andi!
It has been a busy week in the studio… I’m making another scarf to replace the scarf I’m giving away. I also have a new quilt I’m quilting, I’m writing a new tutorial, and I’m working on metal art class homework.
The homework is getting pretty smelly- I’m patina-ing copper by using chewing tobacco, ammonia, and vinegar. I’ll show you what it does to copper in a day or so. So, are you wondering how does a girl suck up the courage to go buy her chew? Well, I first tried to get DH to buy it for me, but he wouldn’t bite. Then we bought a bunch of groceries, and when I got to the part where I ask the checker to get my tobacco, I told her why I wanted it. She agreed it was a strange reason. Then, I told her that it was a cover story for my DH’s chew habit, who was too embarrassed to buy it himself. By this time, I’m not sure she believed me, but I was laughing and having a grand ole time. DH may never bring me to the grocery store again, though.
Tomorrow, I visit Faith’s wonderful studio to work on etching metal and other jewelry projects. Faith is a fun person to hang with, so I’m bound to have a good time.
Before I go, if you haven’t already, I’m having a free fall giveaway in yesterday’s post. The lucky winner will receive an original Carla freeform crochet scarf in honor of my new tutorial:
Do something creative today!! Hugs, Carla
Carla, the sign is awesome. It must be a great feeling to see something that started in your head end up hanging in someone’s window where everyone gets to see and enjoy it. Way to go.
Wow, that logo is way cool! If I ever start a business (as if I had the time or fortitude for that) can I hire you to do the logo? 🙂
Cheers!
Dionne
That sign is so cool! I like your colors better tho ;-}
I wish I could visualize the way you do– great sign!
Does teaching, studying and blogging count? The best I could summon today.
I love the sign Carla. It looks great. By the way, I am glad you don’t have tobacco, ammonia and alcohol around my copper collection! It’s patina looks fine.
I love the sign! Yes, I’d think a great deal less of you if I found out you chew tobacco! Stick to using it with ammonia and alcohol! Way too funny with how you handled the purchase of the chew!
Hugs,
Karen
The sign looks great!
Do you have a recipe for pickle for silver?

you crack me up! I was picturing the whole scene in my mind. I had a hard time asking the guy at Ace Hardware where to find the bastard files. He acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about, so I had to say it again. He started cracking up and I felt like I was in 5th grade again.
You do logos too? Is there anything you don’t do?????
