I put in a full day of quilting today! I got as far as the block fills- here’s the middle of this quilt:
Still have the to SID the borders, blocks, applique etc… Then I need to add interest and texture to the applique as well. I’ve ended up doing this quilt 100% freehand and hand guided, which means no no computer, no machine to make it move- just good old fashioned machine quilting!
Tomorrow, I’ll show you my progress – hopefully I’ll be close to finished. Hugs, Carla
Absolutely gorgeous Carla. You are a very talented lady.
Oh Carla, that is SO pretty!!! Can you drop that in the mail to me??? Tee hee…
It will be a stunner for sure!
Karen
Thank you to Freda, Caron and Karen, Thank you for your kind words, I don’t quilt as much as I used to because of my back. I do enjoy it and hope it comes through.
Ohhhhh….I love this, Carla! I can’t wait to blatantly copy you! LOL First, I’ll prolly have to make a quilt like this, though…where am I gonna find the time for that?!
LOL, Randi, go ahead, I don’t mind! After all, it is a Meandering Magic done Carla style! I give the credit to Suzanne for the brilliant idea to quilt a meandering spine, then work your design off of it.
This quilt is going in a show in just a few weeks. I’m hoping it does well for the owner- who happens to be the VP at my bank and a very lovely person.
Stunning quilting!!! I don’t know how you do it — such talent!
Hi Barb! Hmmm…. good eye hand coordination? LOL! I still have to ditch this quilt, I even do that freehand if I can get away with it.
PS: to everyone else: I went to see Barb on Monday, and she is working on this stunning Egyptian quilt. Woo-hoo, can’t wait to quilt that one!
ooooo, Carla, I love it! I can’t wait to see the finished product! It’ll definitely be a ribbon winner!
I was wondering how your back was holding out. It’s gorgeous, and it definately has your style, which is beautiful. I can’t wait to see the whole quilt when it’s finished. What does and Egyptian quilt look like anyway? I’ll be watching for it.
My oh my, Carla! You never cease to amaze me with your quilting. I am anxious to see the rest. I think you should do a coffee table book of your quilts…………..sigh….
Wow!!!!!! Another show stopper and ribbon winner for sure. I am gonna try that as well. Every time I see Suzanne’s meandering magic on someone’s quilt it is alway to cover edge to edge. You are brillant to transfer that around applique. Of course your quilting always has some wonderful details added that just make it knock off your socks! That looks like another blue ribbon quilt to me.
I can’t wait to see the Egyptian quilt either, not to mention what you will do with that one.
When you have the coffee table book out I want an autographed copy!!!!!
I am going to try to work on a quilt of my own today…………first one of mine to on the machine this year!
Carla, your work is just out of this world gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
