Lesson 2 Painting class

My hand are all covered in paint, I’ve made a huge mess, but 2 of the 4 canvases are completed for Lesson 2. Basically, if you compare the following painting with the post yesterday, you will see that I’ve added multiple layers:

Still more layers to do, plus I need to come up with a focal point image, drawing or collage element. So far, I highly recommend Paulette’s class!

Hugs, Carla

  1. Hi Carla, thanks for visiting my blog…nice to “meet” you! Your paintings are just beautiful…i’m so impressed! I haven’t done lesson 2 yet, but it looks like it will be a fun one. So glad you came to visit.

  2. WOW – these are lovely! I especially partial to the gold one…I love the scrolls…..

Poor Rex….hope all goes well this afternoon…keep up posted!

  3. Those are lovely, I am having a lot of trouble with the videos, so getting to see what you have done is helping…I am glad I am not the only one who didn’t sand, and I am not the only one with a wack of paintings going on, I am going to start another with a thick underpainting, I love the textural quality of it….as a quilter that may appeal to you too…I have to scroll down further and see your quilts…tomorrow, it is WAY past my bedtime…

Thanks for dropping by my blog. See you in class, sort of.

oreneta, thanks for stopping by! Not sure what the time difference is in Spain?

The videos do take a long time to download- and I have a fast internet hookup. Perhaps you could download the pdf. file for the class notes to help out? Lesson 2 is basically, in no particular order, stamping, stenciling, and painting some background texture (scroll texture).

The aqua green one I wasn’t loving, so I painted over it with a glaze wash, and rubbed off. I think I did this twice. That wasn’t in the instructions, so I guess I’m a rebel, too!! LOL!
