Artistic Harmony

I was reading Lynn’s blog the other day and she posted all the things in her life which contributed to her “artistic harmony.” “Artistic Harmony” is a phrase I’ve coined which means that which brings joy and delight to us and to our creativity.

That was a nice thought, so I thought I would also stop and share things which add to my life; which contribute to my own artistic harmony.

Tops is my DH of almost 25 years, Joe. Here is a picture previously shared from our vacation this last summer in the BVI:

Next month, we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. How lucky am I to be married to the love of my life? If I had to do it all over, I would marry him again in a heartbeat!

Next is my family…. the kids, and of course my first grandbaby to be- arriving next January. Included in this list is my Dad (and Doris), Ramona, sister Yvette and Captain Dave, Tammy, BIL and SIL’s and all those nieces. Niece Katie comes for a visit this next weekend.

The pets: Rex the wonderhound, Kato the elderly kitty, Mia, and lastest resue kitty, Oscar:

Next item (ok, you do rate higher than my pets) which contribute to my artistic harmony is all my friends. You know who you are- some I’ve know for decades, some for years and some for a shorter time. You are appreciated!

Next is my home. I feel lucky to live in such a beautiful home set in a private location in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mt. range. Many blog readers remember posts from when I was building the house as owner/builder.

Next project is a pool in the spring…

My various mixed media art stuff that I do to express my creativity. Quilting, fiber art, freeform crochet, drawing, beading, etc. etc. That is what keeps me grounded.

So what enhances your artistic harmony??

  1. Many congratulations on your 25th!

  2. 38 yrs here, and counting – would definitely marry him again. He is my biggest fan and supporter. Since he is an artist (watercolors) and we collaberate on projects, and we are together 24/7 for the last 8 years, we have established a wonderful artistic harmony! Love that phrase, Carla!

  4. Love your beautiful website! Of all my creative artistic pursuits, I always come back to fabric and color as being my favorites…well, those and writing. I collect original flowered feed sacks from the 1940’s for my quilting projects. Just finding them at flea markets and antique malls is a thrill! I just marvel at all the unusual patterns and colors! When I’m not working with fabric, I’m writing. I have a new book out, a collection of memory stories from my growing up days. This is my 2nd book. My first was called “The Wishing Years” and this new one is “A Tree Grows in Trout Creek”…Come visit me sometime soon!
