A quick cartoon done on the fly. This is for all those childhood nightmares I had about fierce creatures under my bed:
I also wouldn’t sleep with my closet door open either. LOL
Enjoy! Carla
I did a couple of these just for fun- or maybe I was bored. The first one has, of course, a chicken theme.
Hmmm… what is it with me and chickens? Am I paying for that one time as a child when we herded them up to the top of the barn to see if chickens could really fly?
The next one I decided to draw through the eyes of a child with a naive, stylized “feel:”:
My inspiration was a cat I had growing up, when she had her babies and would carry them all over the house. Ahhhhh… childhood memories.
And a close up of the worms:
I don’t think I would trust that top worm… LOL! Btw, I am drawing to the word, “worry,” this week.
This simple cartoon is actually a metaphor for many topics, I decided as I illustrated it. I’ll let you guess which ones.
Enjoy your weekend! Regards, Carla

The Illustration Friday word this week to draw from is “Seed.” I love sunflowers, sunflower seeds, plus I just finished quilting sunflowers all over a quilt last week, so this is what came to mind. Hope you enjoy it! Regards, Carla
Happy Leap Day, Everyone!! Here is my IF for the week:
Inspiration was the word association of Leap:frog. I’ve always been intrigued by how fast they grab their food using their tongues, hence the illo above. I would love to ask other IF participants who work digitally… what programs do you use and how do you approach adding color?
For new visitors, here are a few other Illustration Friday challenges I have done:
Thanks! Regards, Carla
Illustration Friday Time! The week this word is “Stitch,” and I just happened to have this cartoon handy along this week’s theme word:
For the IF crowd that views this, the machine my chicken is operating is called a longarm quilting machine. Think of a sewing machine on steroids. It does stitching in a HUGE way. I do this in my studio, here is a real life example:
