FAQ:
Where are your eClasses held? All eClasses are held in an online classroom called , which features education software platform called “moodle.” Students should bookmark the classroom page located HERE.
How do I register for a class?
Since the classroom is located on it’s own website page, featuring educational software used by many colleges and schools, I made this helpful video showing the easy steps to register. Please watch, if needed.
How long do classes last? Classes currently run for 3 weeks, though we do plan to offer future classes lasting a shorter duration of 1-2 weeks. We realize that eClasses are meant to fit into your busy lives, so you will have additional access to all course content for an extra 6 months once the 3 week class is over. This extra time will allow students to finish any exercises or homework, view all videos and handouts, watch the class live webinar meetings, and refresh new skills learned at your convenience.
When will I be able to start the class? Class start dates are provided before you sign up. Classes start on a Monday morning, so when you get up for the day, the first week class materials will be available to you. You may fit the first week’s lesson into your busy life at your convenience.
Will you remind me that my class has started? Yes, I send out several reminders before and during the class. Once a student has registered, I send out a welcome letter which thanks the student for registering. This letter also instructs them how to locate the class and when Lesson Week 1 will be available.
I plan to be gone during part of the time when the class is scheduled. May I still take the class? Yes, the benefit of taking our online courses is so you may easily fit it into your schedule. In the past, we have had many students who went on vacation or were gone for a part of the class. They were able to catch up or use the extra 6 month access time to learn the class materials.
How are classes organized? Classes run for a 3 week time period, so on the first Monday of the class, Week 1 Course Materials (videos, handouts, etc) are posted in the classroom for students to access at their convenience. Students may also vote on when to hold the weekly class live webinar meetings, however, these are recorded and later uploaded to the classroom for any student unable to attend. The following Monday, Week 2 Course Materials are available for students to view. The last Monday of the class, Week 3 Course Materials become viewable by all the students.
What are Webinar Meetings? We use GoToWebinar.com website to hold our weekly class meetings. These are real time meetings where you can see the instructors desktop monitor and hear the teacher(s) explain a concept. Students attend and may type in questions, which the instructor(s) can answer in live time. These meetings are recorded and posted to the classroom within 24 hours for any student to view.
I live in ________________ (Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, or the Americas), may I still sign up for a class? Yes, we have had students from all over the globe who have taken classes with us. When students pay for the class through PayPal, PayPal is able to convert the dollar amount for each class into your local currency.
I want to repeat a class that I have taken previously. Do I receive a special rate? Yes, for any student wanting to repeat the same class, you are entitled to 50% off the tuition rate. Please contact Carla (contact button is above, just below the header art) to receive your special discount rate.
What is your refund policy? My refund policy is that a student may obtain a refund for any reason before the class starts or during the first 3 days after the class has begun, minus the small administration fee that Paypal may charge. During the remainder of week 1, students may request a refund for good cause (illness, or other life circumstance), which is granted, minus any Paypal administrative fee. After Week 2 has been posted, refunds are not provided. Students, of course, will have an extra 6 months course access time in which to review the entire course content at their convenience.
What type of internet connection is suggested to take a class here? Since each class has video and large file content, the student will need a faster internet connection such as DSL, cable, or satellite to help them with video and file downloads. Older internet connections, such as dial-up, may become frustrating to the student due to long wait times.
What computer experience is needed to take an eClass? Students will need to know how to download a file link, register for the classroom site and class, and feel comfortable on the internet. We have successfully taught many students who are beginning internet users.
What internet browsers will I need for the class? We recommend using Firefox, but the classroom website works with Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome and other major web browsers. The only small issue we have come across is a minor disconnect between the Moodle software used for classes and Internet Explorer when attempting to upload images to the classroom forum. This is easily overcome by using another web browser to upload your homework pictures.
